I really enjoyed reading this. Such a concise summation of how we got here and I'm always moved by your optimism of the will. Do you have any reading recommendations re: (American) republicanism?

William Clare Roberts "Marx's Inferno" is a great place to start. Have an episode with him coming out next week too!

Thoughtful and compelling. The ILC is very much like the sort of thing I proposed back in 2018 to a certain historically labor-oriented group only to be met with the hollow rebuttal that "we don't have any resources for that"... Really? You don't have the "resources" to hold regular gatherings and activities to recruit and reconstitute the social base that is the very subject of your alleged vision?

Ironically, I'm now developing a resource-related effort in Chicago but would love to spin up a local ILC chapter, too. Are there any best practices or learnings I can reference to help incubate a local ILC?

Good description of how we got here. I have stuck with the Popular Front for my entire adult life. I am 66 now. It's about time to file for divorce from the Democratic Party.
